I have shot a lot of both and it's a lot easier to be proficient with a rifle. A pistol and a bow are closer to the same in that they do not forgive if you ain't perfect.

I torque my body at weird angles and shoot while squatting or sitting. I also "gap" shoot a lot. 25 yds, 33 yds, 37 yds...etc not the 20, 30, and 40 yds. It helps with holdovers and such

Just a tip for some that shoot fixed blades, be sure to shoot every arrow in your quiver with the broad head that will be on it when you hunt.
I just shot all of mine this evening to find that one arrow was bad, didn't matter what broadhead I shot it was all over the place.

    Passionate bow hunters.

Feetz- you are right in line for that spine shot which I am a huge fan of....

Drop them or paint the woods is what I live by.

It was either a Midwest Whitetail or Nock on. Can't remember which one.

That's a pretty good pattern. What choke were you using?

Good Ole spine shot with a bow. Sounds like you hit a 2 x 4.....arrow goes in about 5 or 6 inches then you have to pin his ass to the ground with the rest of the arrows in your quiver to keep him from crawling away.

Today's shot. 25 yard broadside. Had to get my confidence back after yesterday.

45 yards and that's the dot I was aiming for.

I've been shooting out of the stand and practicing shooting while sitting down.

    With a Bow...

How many of you can reliably shoot an animal at 100 yards?

I know a few who can and do.

I can hit a target at 100 but would not shoot at Piers Morgan at that range...

I have and will shoot at deer at 70 yards. That is about it for me.

I'd chuck a rock at Piers at any range on the off chance God would touch my arm and I just might smite him.
