    Good move.

The man does good work (better than most out there, no doubt) and he doesn't try to fully empty your wallet. He'll leave you enough to buy lunch or get a bit of gas.

I don't want to bash you Toyota boys too much, but, my Dad has an older Tundra (2002??) and I had an old Tacoma. Compared to a Ford or Chevy, the Toyotas ride stiff and rough in my opinion. I have an '02 Tahoe with 150k miles and it's still running strong. Rides great. I also have a 2010 F150 that I have absolutely enjoyed driving. I know most people are either Ford or Chevy, not both. That said, they've both been more comfortable and enjoyable to drive than the Toyota's I've driven. Mechanically, I do think the Toyota's are great trucks.

Save yourself 11k and go buy an 87 SR5 straight axle Toyota with a 22r.

These threads always amuse me. They turn into a bash fest. I can assure you as a shop owner I work on them all. They all have their own issues.

Pick out what you like in your price range and buy it. Who gives a shit what someone else thinks. If you're concerned about buying a piece of shit, go buy a new one under warranty. They all break!
