    Default Hartwell Fishing Help

I am going to staying up on the North end of Hartwell next week near Westminster. I am wanting to take my boys striper fishing a couple of mornings while we are up there but I have not laid eyes on the lake much less fished it. Couple of questions:

    1. What's the best boat landing to use in that area?
    2. Where is the best place to get live herring?
    3. Do I need work back down the lake towards deeper water or could I have success staying up high on the lake.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lake Hartwell Outdoor Center for bait. There are multiple ramps close by, but portmans is right behind the bait shop. Striper & Hybrid should be down the lake towards the dam

Probably be tough to find fish on that end of the lake. Gotta go south. BJ

I would start looking in 100-150' deep fish should be suspended from 40-80ft

    Go to them dam.

Look at your chart or ride around until you find the river channel.

Fish it. Keep your bait just above the fish you mark.

    Catch fish.
