A friend of mine just got back from Alaska. He was up there for the last five or six weeks working on a commercial salmon boat and brought me this nice piece of sockeye. This piece got a 24-hour salt cure with dill and lemon zest. Gotta get a bagle and some cream cheese and capers.

I got another filet that is bigger. I feel lucky since he only brought home 50lbs. He said they really only fished hard for two weeks. They caught 80,000 lbs in the first three tides hand pulling drift nets.

I brought back 50lbs + of salmon when I fished up there. I think I ate 10 lbs of it within my first week home.
