Senator McCain, It’s Satan on Line One

Let there be no sympathy for the devil. One of the most diabolical forces in modern American politics is now on his way out. On Wednesday, it was announced that Senator John McCain has brain cancer.

It’s not only any brain cancer either but glioblastoma, a particularly nasty variation of the disease that will soon do for America what the voters of Arizona never would, remove him from office permanently.

While there are outpourings of sympathetic wishes for a man whose malevolent influence on foreign policy has been unprecedented, let’s not forget for one second that McCain is a key player in a scheme to overthrow the legitimately elected President of the United States.

It was McCain who sought out the infamous 35-page dirty dossier from former British spook Christopher Steele and personally gave it to FBI Director James Comey. That sleazy piece of gossip has driven the persecution of Trump and his associates and to this day, serves as the basis of the ginned-up case to tie President Trump to the Kremlin.

His condition should now spare him from ever having to testify on his involvement in the dirty dossier.

What McCain did comes very close to treason and at the very least, is espionage against his own country. The senator’s fanatical desire to instigate a war with Russia seems to have finally driven him over the edge and Trump’s pragmatism was an unforgivable sin that had to be severely punished.

There is also the matter of the 2015 firestorm when candidate Trump was set up by GOP hack Frank Luntz to respond to a question in a way that was made into an attack on McCain’s “war hero” legend. It was the first fully coordinated attack on the man who would emerge to be POTUS and McCain played an integral part of it.

Like so many other efforts to take Trump out, it failed.

There are already plenty of those who blame McCain’s bizarre behavior on the cancer. Don’t believe it for one second.

McCain was true to form when he accused fellow Senator Rand Paul of being an agent of Putin on the Senate floor and he will be pushing for war up until the second that he sucks in his last dying breath.

Those who speak honestly of McCain will be vilified as Russian agents while the curtain of revisionist history gets pulled across McCain’s long career of treachery.

There was never a war that he and his BFF Senator Lindsey Graham weren’t salivating to send the sons and daughters of American mothers off to die in and the human toll in countries like Syria and Ukraine where McCain played a key role in is enormous.

Then there is the “war hero” thing.

Accounts from former prisoners of war have stated that McCain was quick to collaborate with the Viet Cong for special treatment while at the Hanoi Hilton. The special treatment that an admiral’s arrogant punk son would be given by the enemy, the mainstream media dismisses these as conspiracy theories as they have long had McCain’s back.

There is also the suppressed story of McCain’s role in the coverup of POW-MIA’s still in Vietnam, it is a dark and evil tale of betrayal that flies in the face of McCain’s status as an exalted and heroic figure.

Even more damning is an extensive piece by Pulitzer Prize winning Vietnam war correspondent Sydney Schanberg – who was portrayed in the movie “The Killing Fields”– reporting that Senator McCain himself bears some responsibility for leaving men behind in Vietnam. The Schanberg piece, entitled “McCain and the POW Cover-Up” is jaw-dropping and it lays out a damning case against the “war hero”.

I excerpt the opening but go and read the entire thing and judge it for yourself.

John McCain, who has risen to political prominence on his image as a Vietnam POW war hero, has, inexplicably, worked very hard to hide from the public stunning information about American prisoners in Vietnam who, unlike him, didn’t return home. Throughout his Senate career, McCain has quietly sponsored and pushed into federal law a set of prohibitions that keep the most revealing information about these men buried as classified documents. Thus the war hero who people would logically imagine as a determined crusader for the interests of POWs and their families became instead the strange champion of hiding the evidence and closing the books.

Almost as striking is the manner in which the mainstream press has shied from reporting the POW story and McCain’s role in it, even as the Republican Party has made McCain’s military service the focus of his presidential campaign. Reporters who had covered the Vietnam War turned their heads and walked in other directions. McCain doesn’t talk about the missing men, and the press never asks him about them.

Despite his blighted history, McCain has been lionized by the press. He was fake news before there was fake news and was such a fixture on the Sunday morning talk shows that perhaps they can stuff his carcass and prop it up next to Chuck Todd after he croaks.

With McCain out of the way, perhaps there will finally be a chance to escape from the endless cycle of foreign wars and focus on rebuilding America and taking care of the veterans who were physically and mentally damaged in the wars that McCain promoted. Most importantly, the driving force of the suicidal idea that escalating hostilities against a nuclear powerhouse like Russia will be out of the way and normalization of relations can begin.

McCain isn’t long for this world and countless amounts of print and electronic establishment media will continue propagandizing him as an American hero when he is anything but.
