I had the 5-20 and sold it.
I would go with the 3x model simply for the field of view.
Sighting it in can be a pain in the ass.
Order a battery pack of amazon and use it for the main battery.
I could see my dogs in the pen at 100 yards with my IR on low.
I have one of the 3-14(?) models on an AR upper. Seems to work well. With an aftermarket illuminator I could kill stuff to 200+ yards. Got it for hogs, have not taken it out yet.
I had no issues zeroing. But second on the battery pack. This thing eats AA's.

I've been thinking of getting one of these. I like the idea of digital so it can be a day or night scope.
I'm looking at the Pulsar N550 and the ATN x-sight 3-14.
Any thoughts?
Been considering the same ones for coyote hunting this year.
The only thing I've read of concern is how it may pixelate at the higher end of the magnification range.
Swamp Rat... have you seen this on yours, particularly in low light or after dark? If so, what's the highest magnification where you still see a relatively sharp picture - daylight vs nighttime?
Thanks.

Nothing?
I have the x-site 5x20. Sighting in was really easy. I would agree with the need for the external battery. The scope is heavy. Day and night modes work great. There are a lot of youtube videos showing what the video looks like.
I don't think this is a viable option for anyone who has ever looked through decent night vision

Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.
Might be an option for folks with a budget. Sky is the limit on these things or the FLIR, right?

I have mine in a 75 yard and in role, and I'm likely to be selling it. It works, but I have to run a stronger IR illuminator to see any distance. Zoom adds pixilation quickly. You could probably shoot hogs with it to 100 yards okay.
Some of us, this is all we can afford, but I'm saving for usable thermal.

Can thermal be used in the daytime?
No doubt you are right, it's just that some guys around here have said the yotes seem to have gotten wise to the red lights, and possibly the green. Not sure how true that is yet so just curious about this device as an option. Can't afford to toss the pennies for a good NV unit to hunt yotes a few times a year.
