Out of curiosity... How would bow thruster failure cause this? Or are they thinking something compromised the hull around the thruster?

Matt told Gary years ago that he had a bad stringer.

BUT GARY DIDN'T WANT TO LISTEN!

    I am betting on delamination.

That boat didn't have a bow thruster. My guess is they had a plank come loose.

Story I heard was a crew member was in the v berth napping and was awaken by a loud pop. When he stepped out the berth, water was over his ankles.

    True story Ralph.
Plank on frame PM, not designed for that power and running that fast.
I'm sure it had prior structural problems.

How fast was this boat going? Plank boats have been going 30knts for years and don't cave inward.
I've had a sport fisher, and have been thinking on this all week. A ton of stuff has happened to me that was crazy as hell, but hull failure never crossed my mind

If you want big engines and a fast boat you had better build it for it not try to modify to it....

Is it true it was only in 30' when it sunk? If thats the case, you'd think it would be pretty easy to find but I dont know how far it will drift once it goes under but before it hit the bottom. (sounds like the divers didn't either)
