Default DNR sets minimum decoy rule in Il

Ryan Hummert, the city’s natural resource manager, said that the IDNR requires hunters to have at least 12 decoys while hunting. However, the new city ordinance will require blind holders to deploy a minimum of 24 decoys at all times while using the blind. All decoys must also have the owner’s name, address, and telephone number.

They won't be able to enforce it soon the state will run out of money to pay game wardens.

Curious what is the thought process behind this? I can't see a rational reason.

Next year they will pass a law regarding what pattern of camo you have to wear.

I wonder what the ratio of drakes to hens has to be? Can they use lead weights?

Seeing how the vast majority or hunters obey game laws, they have to come up with crazy shit like this do they can write citations. Issuing tickets and generating revenue is the only way to justify dnr. That's why sc is going to the new deer tag system. Since the legalization of corn, the wardens have had nothing to write tickets for.

If you carry your tags with you, and attach them to the deer that you kill, they still have "nothing" to write tickets for. Its really not that difficult.

City officials said some landowners adjacent to Silver Lake have, in the past, purchased blind spots not to hunt, but to keep others from doing so, because they did not like early-morning noise near their homes during hunting season. In turn, this has generated complaints from actual hunters who have been unable to secure a blind.

The amendment also requires those with permits to blinds to use them. Blind holders that do not use their blind each waterfowl season will be subject to losing their privileges for two consecutive years.
    Interesting.

Don't think that those who are against hunting do not employ counter-measures whenever possible. Several "environmental groups" used to make a practice of circling duck blinds on the Chesapeake until it nearly reached a dangerous conclusion. The DNR and USFW had to intervene and write tickets to those that were harrassing hunters. I have often wondered if they participate in lottery hunts applications and or falsely report fish harvests to skew seasons and bag limits. Where you can and cannot hunt on Lake Marion is so complicated that it is not published anywhere. It simply states to "contact the SCDNR and inquire and a LEO will return your call." In NoDak we saw many places that were posted that had no hunters on them for the entire week. When we inquired the actual landowners said the local guides posted OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY in an effort to drive away competition. MG

    Doo Whaa?

Only places you can't hunt on Marion is Cypress Gardens cove and the Refuge.
1 is posted by "No Hunting" and the other is posted every 500ft with the standard USFWS refuge signs .

Oh, and you can't be within 200ft of the docks at the Resort.

    Complicated is a loose term.....

You can hunt wherever you want, and I'm damn glad for it.

We do just fine without ridiculous blind laws...thank you very much.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

That is nowhere near what is enforced. There are more than a few people that have paid to find that out. MG
