    Default Best braid

Need to spool up some 6000 spinning reels.

Always been a sufix guy but and won't go back to power pro. Haven't tried J-braid but can get a spool of 1650 feet of 50lb for $86. It's Japanese made, and honestly if I had to have something Asian it would be jap.

Lemme know if I need to steer clear or if there are better options. Not interested in spending $50 to spool
a reel bc I suck at fishing anyway

braid's expensive as fuck. I used a lot of old mono as backing. I went with suffix. I would've gone with the J-line but they didnt have the pound test I wanted. I am sure others have strong opinions I can make fun of shortly.

    Hope this helps.

Congrats on coming out of the closet with Lab.

Stick with Sufix. Also, if that spool of J-Braid is 1650 feet and not 1650 yards, that's more expensive than Sufix. It was around $30/300 yards last time I spooled up.

J-Braid is limp and likes to throw wind knots....and made overseas.

Spiderwire is made here in the US....and has some body to it (less wind knots).

I'm using Spiderwire Stealth blue camo on my bottom reels and have been happy with it so far. I got a 1500 yrd spool of 65lb.

Call tackledirect... I've found that if you buy a few items at once, they are more than willing to knock a few bucks off...

Don’t buy the Jap stuff, I bought some, did a bunch a research, everyone said the stuff was awesome, etc etc, trying to save a little over diamond braid.
Bad idea. 60Lb was constantly breaking at less than 30 pounds, I believe the 100lb I bought broke at like 48. Not at the Knots either, mid line. I sent it all back.

We have diamond braid on some of our highspeed stuff that is over 6 years old, never an issue.

Jerry brown is good stuff too. If you know the exact amount you need, call Basil at BHP tackle, he will even cut it in lengths and put it all on one spool, no guessing on how much line you put on.

6000 spinning reels is a lot. I would buy in bulk for that many

someone made mention of how much line to put on a reel, etc....

I know it says it can hold 200yd/10lb....but do you really need 200yd? I was filling some spools for canada and just stopped when it seemed to have enough line on it. That is entirely too arbitrary. is there a way to figure this out mathematically per revolution of the spool? Per turn of the handle? just wondering how you micromanagers do this.

Will be putting 400 yds of 40lb on each reel. Gonna catch tons of big tarpon remember?
Will also be using for surf fishing with the youngins and anything else that swims 10 miles out or less. 8 foot medium heavy rods.

As I said. Im good at hunting but I suck at fishing. Kids like to fish though. And it's a good excuse to buy cool shit.
