Default Live bait tank for striper fishing

Anybody know where i can get a good 30-35 gallon bait tank? Will use it mainly to keep alewives in while fishing cherokee lake in tn. I like the filter system on the super bait tank ii but wondering if there is something out there a little cheaper. I think a 30 gallon with with shipping runs around $620. I'm just your typical weekend fisherman and that is a big investment. Realize i will probably have to go with that if i can't find maybe a cheaper model with the same type of filter system.

I know it isn't what you were asking, but have you considered just using a big cooler with a bilge pump? You could easily make one for less than $100.

i think a guy named "kayakkillshots" on here has alot of connections on random fishing and hunting gear, i would check in with him. a well respected authority around here for his knowledge of lake hunting and fishing prowess.

There have been a few posted in the trading post over the last year or two, not sure if they sold though.

I've got to keep a lot of insulated one that I would contemplate selling. Might need to be rewired but other than that it's good to go

Keep your eye on The Striper Board, they'll pop up every now and again. If it were me I'd wait and find a used Vest (SBT II) or similar. That way you'll always get your money back and have a nice tank to keep yo bait alive. Worst thing is to spend all the time and money to go on a trip just to have it ruined because your bait won't stay alive!

    Don't overthink it.

I had a bait tank stolen mid summer last year.

Fished once a week using a clear plastic tote and aerator. Had no problem keeping 6-7 dozen alive and well for 8 hours of fishing.

Just flush some river/lake water in there occasionally and keep adding ice.
