I was asking another forum member about this but I will be in the area this weekend and want to grab some BBQ.
What do y'all recommend. I know Dukes is popular.
Smoking Oaks BBQ?
Smoking Planks BBQ?

Q on Bay is real good.
The only man to ever get all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
Anyone ever been to Sargent Whites? Always pass it, but it seems to never be open.

Q on bay is ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there though.
Not BBQ...but check out LT's, The Fillin' Station or Shrimp Shack. If you want something fancy try Saltus or Wren.
Duke's BBQ is good and is buffet style and Big Joe's BBQ is good and has some good/different baked beans and other good sides.

BBQ in Beaufort is like trying to order fresh seafood in Oklahoma .
I recommend breakfast at the Hardee's in Hardville to expand your worldview and understanding of deer management.

Just outside Beaufort county into Jasper you will find a crossroads with a little hole in the wall called "the pink pig". They have the best Brunswick stew and the best BBQ around.
Bluffton bbq
Be better off to plan a bbq day on the way down. What day of the week you traveling south? Coming down 95 I assume?
Eta I have nothing here. Both that I would suggest around here are closed currently.

I highly recommend the Bull Tavern on West St. Downtown no BBQ. The duck with sweet potato is worth the trip. Make a reservation.
The Pink Pig is on your left about 2 miles after going into Jasper County towards Savannah. It's good but I wouldn't drive from Beaufort to eat it
I have heard you can get hotdogs outside at Temptations. That's pork, and bbq is made from pork. I have also heard you can trade leftover beers from the cooler you take into Temptations for hotdogs outside. This is all second-hand knowledge, of course.
