New headlamp needed

You know, the kind that goes on your head.

I'm not coon hunting or anything, just general use. Fixing shit under the house, fishing, hunting, bush hooks, etc....

Is there any ground breaking technology out there I need to be aware of or should I just buy a cheap one off the shelf.

No idea really....I would think $50 would get a 'high end' light but could be wrong.

i've always had luck with the cheapest ones out there because i'm gonna lose it.

plus, I have never duck hunted with anyone "bright" enough to remember NOT to look straight at me and shine the piss out of my eyes and no one ever remembers to take them off their head!

I buy the cheap $14-$20 off the shelf units, I either loose them, drop them in the water, or someone "borrows" them often enough that I need a quick replacement.

I had a nicer $50 unit once, it was a little bit brighter, but not worth twice the price.

Go to lowes. Buy the cheapest one they have on the impulse rack. Get 3 or 4 of 'em.

Cabelas has the Princeton Tec Fuel LED on sale for $14.99. I have two P-Tec lights and both are awesome. I bought the one below last month and have used it at least 30 hrs problem free. Wore it two hours last night working on a fence.

This has been my headlamp and every use light. Held up well in saltwater and gets as bright as you should ever need it to. Goes from headlamp to clipped on my waders all season. No complaints.

The energizer ones from walmart or lowes aren't bad. Fairly bright and cheap enough you can have one in each vehicle and a couple laying around the house and shop.

I bought a couple of these last year and have been impressed so far with durability and brightness. The "blood trailing" light works well for me if I don't need a ton of light but still need to see where I'm going.
