Default Give your kids a hug tonight, folks.

Went to a wake tonight for an hombre just 2 years older than me, brother of my friend. Somber moments watching his 28 & 20 year old sons attended to everyone who gathered there. Their Dad is gone and the weight of this was clearly on their shoulders.

My friend said his 28 year old nephew has a good head on his shoulders and will prevail. Tough, tough situation.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice meal together in a spot near the wake where we haven't been in ages....and it was her idea. I'd sorta hoped she'd remember the location and I was rewarded. Great out of the way place to have a nice date nite with my bride and to reflect on our many blessings.....are largest of which was at home with the dogs and studying for his final exams.

The 'rita was cold and timely.....and the salad was how I like it....free of the clutter of lettuce, lol. The catfish was every bit as good as I remembered it from ten years ago.

Time to do some serious exercise to burn that meal off and be around a while longer for my boy.

Damn, that was a sad sight this evening. Calling my Dad first thing in the morning when I know he's up and active just to tell him I love him and to thank him for always being there.

I lost my dad when I was 12, the 28 year old should be fine I guess. I mean I'm cool as shit with no emotional problems. That food looks good. This is a weird thread.

Yeah but using power tools and equipment prevents emotional problems. It'll make a turd. Strange things going around, maybe heroin.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Yep me too. Buried the guy who did his best to take his place at 19, his father. It sucks. Prayers for those young men.

    Sorry for the oddball combination.

To clarify, the deceased was the brother of a friend, but not someone I knew. Just tough seeing my buddy & his nephews dealing with a life cut too short.

Wife found a way to rally the night after the wake by suggesting the bite to eat and some time to just hang out together...something that's been long overdue.

Combine that with the fact that I'd been up due to work the night before sipping coffee all afternoon and dreading going to such and event....

I guess if you plan to go to hell then yea it sure beats that.

Sure dying sucks! I miss all those loved ones I've lost but I take comfort knowing that a better life is yet to come.

Lost my dad at 13 yrs old - 39 years ago.
I turned out ok, but there's an emptiness that is still there - and catfish can't fill that empties, although it looks very good.

Many apologies for a disjoint fukked up thread about random developing shyt.

That catfish was the ticket, though.
