You have to appreciate that a large segment of the marlin fishing crowd are gold chain wearing rednecks who don't know any better.

Those were Spanish, passed through them on the way to fish bottom. I bottom fish, I like it. I threw a few in the cooler, and tossed them on the grill for lunch that day.

All kinds of BS in this...twin big blocks in a 24 Scottie? No way that fits.... And Chrysler never made a 454, largest big block gasser they made was a 440. So if he told you all of that then I'd take his dolphin data with a grain of salt.

    Hogg,

I feel like I have been mentally raped.

This is either some rap song or a Alister Crowley poem.
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

I've trolled, even released a few billfish over the years on friends boats.. I'm in the 22 foot range, my boat, no delusions of grandeur.. I live an hour and forty five from the coast. I know my limitations.

Been years since I've seen his boat. Maybe it's bigger than 24', but I've seen the twin big blocks in it. He repowered with GM's at one point. Those must have been the 454's. But he does know his stuff.

Decline…highly doubt it, some years are bad some are good, just like ducks. Water pattern has definitely been odd this year. NC is wearing them out along with yellowfin.
At 7:30 the other evening we were high boat at riplys with 5 fish and we picked up and ran several times, decline no, off day/year is just what it is.

Someone mentioned Don Hammond in an earlier post. Here's an interesting article:
