Sad to see another season gone but glad to finally be able to get turkeys off my brain for a while...All in all it was a good season, that started out a little slow with a couple close calls that didn't go my way.

Started out with a youth day kill.

Then called up a double for my buddy.

After that it was my turn, as big brother helped me get the monkey off my back and allowed it to latch firmly a hold to him.

High light of the year was a solo trip ( cough cough big brother) out west where I killed my first merriam, after miles and miles of hill climbing in Montana. The scenery alone made the trip worth while as the birds were just icing on the cake. I then proceeded to kill a couple more and made my way to South Dakota, where there were a shit ton of birds. Ended my season with a double that could have easily been a quadruple. Then went to check out the founding fathers at Rushmore. Killed birds in 4 different states and checked off my 3rd subspecies. Sad to see it go, already planning trips for next year and taking donations for my taxidermy bill.

    Awesome season! Congrats!
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
