Default scope/red dot on turkey gun

I know this has been discussed before, but my search was not fruitful. For those with scope or red dots on your turkey gun, what are you using?

I have now missed three birds in the last 3 seasons (not in a row for what that's worth). That followed about 20 consecutive kills with this gun. Not sure what's going on. I might be pulling me head up right at the shot to see the results. Not sure. While a scope may not be the answer to my problem, I want to try it. Thinking about the Burris FF3. I have a FF2 on a pistol and like it pretty well.

If you go the FF3 route get the Marlin 336 base.

Get a mount from William at sumtoy. The mounts he is making for them now look great.

    Carolina,

Last year I bought a FF3 and used it all season and had no complaints but sold it. This year I put a vortex Venom on and I like it a lot more than the ff3. They are the same price. The venom has 10 different intensity settings. Also has a automatic setting where it adjust the light itself. I thought was great. It comes with a silicone cover that when on cuts the scope off, if it is in automatic mode. I lost my cover but vortex was happy to send me a new one for free. I called on a Monday on Thursday I had the cover.

The FF/336(or ST base) is a great system. Low on the gun and gives a good snag-free setup. I actually have both bases, Burris 336 and Sumtoy, and I prefer the Burris 336 base. Don't really know why, probably just sentimental reasons.

Scopes and bullshit on turkey guns is gay as hell. If you can't shoot that motha with the bead you need to have transgender surgery.

Again...your attitude about this will likely change when your eyes get old and tired. Dumbass.

There are a few people on here who's opinion I trust on this matter. There are a few more that I should trust but don't know it. You fall in neither category.

Hi, My name is Mike and I am 49yrs old. I have a FF on my turkey shotgun because I can no longer see a bead and keep the turkey anywhere near in focus.
And...a little trivial info...To my knowledge, I was the first person to ever put a FF/336 combo on a shotgun.

If you can tag out on sc public land I will take a bow. I don't care what you shoot em with. Ive tried my hand in the SNF this year and I can't find a single one to gobble once he hits the ground! Not to mention I can't tell where the hell the gobbling is coming from with all the hills!
