    Default Question for you attorney, CPA types

    I just recieved this weird email. The reason it is weird is that the wife and I didn't use this company for our taxes, nor did we file late. The company who sent the email is: Wolterskluwer

    Here is the email of which I don't know what to make of it. It is addressed to myself and my wife, with a submission number and client ID. What the hell is this all about?

    You are receiving this e-mail on behalf of Elliot D. Hayes, Jr..

    Your electronically filed federal income tax extension for tax year 2016 was accepted by the IRS on 04/18/2017.

    Your extension was sent to the Ogden Service Center.

    I did a Google search and it looks like they are out of the Netherlands, must be a scam.

    I don't know how much information can be obtained by opening an email, but if you click on a link or open an attachment you're screwed.

    How many times do y'all have to read that the IRS doesn't call or use email?

    The Ogden Service Center is mainly for non profits.
    It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.

    you know......sometimes, my mind says "dont click that" but I see who started the thread and I get to thinking "maybe this will be worth watching....kinda like a train wreck or an old Three's Company show where you kinda have to turn away before the shit and the fan meet."
