Plate setter, ash tool, looflighter, pizza stone, kickash basket, a good pair of heat resistant gloves.

Cook on it. A lot. That's the best way to learn what works and what doesn't. It's hard to have a bad meal off the egg.

If you have the space, build a table for it. My FIL has a nice table. Mine's in the nest. Nest ain't bad and it has been going strong for 8 years but I always feel like it is going to fail one day and my grill is going to hit the dirt.

    It's a grill!

You need instructions to use it?

I got one back in November and it's a lot of fun to learn to use.

    I have:
    Indirect cooking thingy (plate setter)
Cast iron grate (all I use now)
The thermometer thingy that has a corresponding unit you can take inside with you (the thermometer on the egg isn't very reliable)
    Rib rack
I have two lighters: looftlighter and BGE one. Use the BGE one way more
Good gloves (I use thick leather work gloves)

Charcoal makes a big difference. I used the cowboy once and have used FOGO ever since. It matters a lot.

I google cook times and temps all the time. There are tons of options for anything you want to cook

The most convenient chunk I can find is Cowboy and it hasn't really impressed me much. Kingston briquets work about as well in my Oklahoma Joe smoker for most stuff.

What are you paying for FOGO? I'd never heard of it and googled it. Amazon has it for $70/35 lb. bag. I'd just as soon burn rolled up dollar bills.

When I got this cooking contraption I got added to a text thread with a bunch of buddies from Cola that use theirs frequently. We get together and order pallets of it. We just placed an order and I think it comes out to $40 a bag maybe. I'll get the info and pm it to you. I ordered 5 bags but I have a good dry place to store it

Royal oak for most cooks. Fogo when smoking brisket, ribs, and butts.

The biggest lump you can get your hands on, plate setter and ash tool are a must. I use a metal dust pan and the ash tool to clean out. Those are the must haves.

Oh and Royal Oak sucks. Buy a bag and compare it to good lump and you'll see a world of difference.
