If you liked what you had, pay $25 more if you have to to replace them like-for-like. Don't run a risk of spending $300 on something you'll end up hating.

I have GoodYear Marathons on there now but I heard they moved production to China, (tires are old as dirt, just dry rotting)

I was leaning towards Maxxis because of the speed ratings

Fwiw, when I was looking for boat trailer tires a few months back, I read a lot of negative reviews on the Marathons. I've never had any personal experience with either those or the Maxxis, though.

I just read negative things about them. I'm guessing mine are at least 10 years old. I don't pull the boat a lot, and it sat up for 5 years. It's started to show cracks in the sidewall so I wanna replace them with something before it blows out.

Discount Tire quoted me $240 for hartland? with a warranty for the life of the tire for any blowouts and what not...

Wheel Country quoted me $75 a tire on Hercules by Cooper tire..

No one carries Maxxis but I've read great things about em.

the best thing you could possibly do is replace them with LT tires- ST( trailer tires are rated for low speeds and have terrible longevity. when I was a road warrior pulling a trailer I ran LTs and never had a problem. STs are ok for around town or short trips- don't let them get hot

Doesn't that also depend on the load weight? ST's are typically made with 6-8 ply sidewalks, whereas LT's are made with 4 ply walls. I don't have the link on this tablet, but I remember reading a good article or two about why we shouldn't be putting LT's on trailers. The author(s) may have had a bias I didn't pick up on, but don't think so.

Ok, I'll try to make it up Friday afternoon. Hopefully the tires I have on it can make the haul.
