Empty CO2 Cartridge Uses?

If the hole was big enough would it fly along the ground like a whistling kitty chaser...or just blow the hell up?

Asking only out of scientific curiosity of course.

If the gas expands fast enough, faster than it can escape, it explodes. A slow burning combustion would make a chaser out of it.

Traditional centerfore powders would blow it, especially if they're ground down finer. (I'm thinking the smaller BB gun type CO2 cartridges.)
