Default What's the Best Software ??

What's the best software nowadays for blueprints/construction drawings?

I use to know my way around autodesk inventor pretty well, but that was quite a few years ago. Autocad?I'm sure there are a bunch of options out there and some of y'all probably have experience with lots of them. Also, I've got a few weeks of school left so maybe I can get a student discount or student version.

What's going to be my best bet?

I like Bluebeam, but PlanSwift is also very popular.

Autocad. Don't know if it's the best but I like it.
I take an PLB in the shower with me. Can't ever be too safe.

Basically, I want to be able to draw what the end product is going to look like. I want to do it to scale and not have to sit there with a pencil and paper
I don't necessarily need an estimating software but if the two can come as a combined package that would be great.

Planswift is a takeoff and estimating software for a reasonable cost. Onscreen and quickbid is another. Bluebeam is limited. And none of them are worth a shit if your assemblies and database aren't set up right.

You're looking for a Cad program. Autocad is probably the best but if you're just doing house plans, you can do that with about any of them.

Right now there's about 100 different programs out there that claim they can do everything and are easy to learn and use. Most of them are shit.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
