    Default Turkey experts

Bored at work, I figured this might could strike up a discussion.

Yellow line is the property line.

Right of the line, I can hunt. Left of the line, no go.

A big bird has been strutting around like its his job with 3-4 hens the past few afternoons in the red box area.

Was seen once on my side (right side) last week. Goes to roost every evening right before dark where the arrow is.

How do you kill him, legally?

Go set up in your field mid day, call and wait.

From my experience turkeys do not like using wheat fields once they are up shin or knee high. So that being the case the chances of you killing him in your field are very slim to none. That being said I would go in an hour before daylight and get as close to the roost as possible. You may have to stretch that gray area of the property.

Any black brim in that pond on your side of the line? Where does he come from to get to that red box. I don't think it is directly from the roost area.....

If he's come to your side once, he'll do it again

if the turkey can see through that little hedge row thing, you may be able to pull him across into the your field with a full strut decoy of some sorts.

I guess that was just tall grass when that google earth image was taken, plain sight across the dirt road between the 2 fields now.

Go to Walmart and buy 15 of those cheap foam hen decoys and put them in your field.
