    Default Pond chemist speak up.

Got a bad case of coontail grass in my pond, where neighbors bring youngins to fish. I have read 2-4D will kill it , but they recommend granular. Has anyone took oil dry soaked with liquid 2-4D and made a homemade granular mix. Plus the granular stuff will break the bank when buying.

A diquat like tribune will take care of it better and safer than 24-d. Also clipper/schooner which is a granular herbicide will help prevent it. So will Sonar AS.

Hit it with the diquat. Mix 1 gallon of diquat in a backpack with a sticker and and spray over top. If its not gone in a month do it again. Those other chemicals I mentioned are close $1000 a quart....I do this kinda stuff for a living....the diquat is your best/cheapest route in my opinion.

Diquat and pariquat is the same but pariquat is gramoxone and twice as potent.
