You're correct. He did arrow the 3rd bird but we never found him. Once we went back and looked at the footage we figured that out. I will personally stick to lead after what I witnessed this morning.

That's why I don't have any desire to shoot anymore turkeys with my bow. I've arrowed 5 and only recovered 2. I was using fixed blade broadheads though. Mechanical is the way to go if you're gonna do it.

I believe he told me he was using Greme Reaper heads or something. He shot the bird directly under the beard and the arrow existed the birds leg. Complete pass through the breast and no vitals. Bird was still alive an 1 1/2 hour later and went 300 yards. Not my cup of tea.

Bobby - holler at me and I would be more than happy to call for you at your place.

Yes, saw 4 birds die in 3 hunts. Better to be lucky than good any day of the week. The birds are right.

I have enough trouble killing them with a plain old shotgun, so I have never seriously considered trying to do so with a bow. After watching that video I know for sure I don't want to. It would drive me absolutely bonkers to watch that bird walk off and not be able to shoot him the head with a load of number 6s. Nothing against you or your buddy. That's a heck of an accomplishment to kill one with a bow but I think I'll stick to #6s.

Nice to see some humility in a post. I grow weary of seeing kids say "I did this", "I did that", "look at me", or "I went with a buddy and I called in the bird..."

Good to see a post with some humility.

    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

He's a damn good turkey hunter. We've been hunting/filming together for awhile now.
