I have a newfound respect for Coach Frank Martin. Some of y'all have heard that he and I have gotten to know each other fairly well. We talked at starbucks the other morning and he congratulated (me and) Clemson University on the football National Championship. I thought that was a nice gesture. We started talking about all the "buzz" around mens and womens bball here in columbia (this was back when usc was playing well before the end of the season funk).

Anyway, you all need to hear his comments when asked live on sportscenter:" Coach, we here there was a confederate flag flying at the NCAA game this past weekend in Greenville, SC. Do you have any comment on that?" To paraphrase his response: "You know? That's what's great about this country. People have the right to have their opinion. It doesnt mean I want to invite those people to my house for dinner. My wife and I are both bi-racial and the people of SC have welcomed us with open arms. Any other questions?"

Even the sportscenter announcer (I will find out his name bc he is normal) commented "well said, Coach."

Go tigers.
