They shouldn't have been walking around in my house to begin with.[/QUOTE]
That may work in your house, although I still think it a horrible idea, but you were giving advice at large that would lead to unintended victims in most houses. Just bad advice. Nothing personal.

Most of my guns stay locked up in the safe when I am not using them. I have a few trust worthy guns stashed around the house for any emergencies that may arise. A couple of $200 Mossberg Maverick 88's in 12 ga , revolver and a Glock or two. If anyone gets passed the dog short of shooting him then they have done really well.
Moonlight,
I hope you never have to use the tactics you are preaching. If you do, you are going to fry in court.

haha I agree though. I am looking pretty smart...
My point is this. We, as responsible gun owners, owe it to ourselves to police this situation. When someone comes to me and says "I wanna buy a pistol for home defense to shoot a bad guy", I often pause and ask them how much experience they have with guns, especially pistols. More often than not, I urge them to get a shotgun, NOT a pistol. I think it is responsible gun ownership and will hopefully keep MY hunting guns in MY possession for longer.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
To deduce, don't keep a pistol in your night stand because the govt will make it illegal to dove hunt.
