    Default Gun for home defense

What is your go to gun for home defense? More and more home invasions down around Charleston. Making me think about this more seriously. I currently have a 12 gauge within a few steps of bed, but would have to retrieve it if I was not in bedroom. Pro's and con's of handgun versus shotgun?

I have a snub nosed .44 mag Saturday night special that 2th Doc assured me would be the perfect home defense weapon.

Dammit. Dhall bought a boat and Dr sold his truck. I don't even know this place anymore.

haha I agree though. I am looking pretty smart...

My point is this. We, as responsible gun owners, owe it to ourselves to police this situation. When someone comes to me and says "I wanna buy a pistol for home defense to shoot a bad guy", I often pause and ask them how much experience they have with guns, especially pistols. More often than not, I urge them to get a shotgun, NOT a pistol. I think it is responsible gun ownership and will hopefully keep MY hunting guns in MY possession for longer.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

A light is a good thing for home protection to make sure you don't shoot a family member by mistake, just know when and when not to use it.
If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.

Stevens 320 tactical pump shotgun. Looks cool and cost less than $200. If I need to use a gun in the middle of the night, I want it to be a pump shotgun.
