Default Ball velocity numbers (MPH) from the Combine

Pulled this from another site. Interesting.

Ball velocity numbers (MPH) from the Combine:

    https://mobile.twitter.com/dpbrugler...34987958329346

    60 - Mahomes
    59 - Webb
    56 - Kizer
    55 - Trubisky, Evans
    53 - Peterman, Kaaya
    49 - Watson

Only two under 55 have been successful in the NFL since it started being recorded. Dak Prescott(one year) at 54 and Tyrod Taylor at 50. Both were throwing with tweaked shoulders at the time. Notable players under it who could break the trend are AJ McCarron(53), Mike Glennon(53), and Brett Huntley (53). Notables at 55-56 are Flacco, Russell Wilson, Mariota(56) and Jameis.

A 2 mph difference is 3 feet on a 20 yard throw in the same time frame.

Also a neat little comparison chart:

The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.

Watson has never gotten praise for having a strong arm or protecting the football.... which is why some guys dropped off his bandwagon for awhile. He proved them wrong at the combine. His ability in the clutch, accuracy, and athletic ability will put him as the 1st or 2nd QB. The guy simply passes the eye test.

He's no jake Bentley for sure.
I'd say he's got a 56-7% chance of making it in the NFL

LOL, Bentley wouldn't make the scout team at Clemson.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I don't recall there being a mph throwing contest at the combine, just passing drills. It was pretty evident Watson wasn't throwing it as hard as he could by any stretch.

Arm strength has never been a knock on him from what I can recall.

Watson improved his stock in the combine and separated himself. Nice internet fine though.

How fast did he throw that ball to Renfrow with 2 seconds to go in the National Champioship? Answer: Fast enough.

once gain data can be found to prove any worthless point. Flacco has one of the biggest arms in the league.

GO back to the very first drive that Watson had in college and tell me he doesn't have velocity.

Watson will go high in the draft.

He should be a good nfl qb, providinghe lands with a decent team
