Long story short, our neighbor's pond held loads of birds this season while we had difficulty attracting and holding birds. This was in great contrast to years past. I know there are all sorts of factors and it's not one thing because we are talking about wild animals. However, it got me thinking about the ability of birds to access the corn we had planted. How important is the water height compared to the corn cob? Do you place any importance on this? If so, what is the ideal height for birds to be able to reach the corn. I've seen the vids from out west of birds jumping to access the cob but I would think this is the exception rather than the norm
