Butter is basically just stirred up cream. A lot of people put cream in their coffee. I don't.

My philosophy ...eat want you want and like. God will decide when you die. I have been on a diet one time in my life and that was an 8 week experiment prescribed by a Dr to see if it could help my cholesterol. Nope, no change.

People put butter in their coffee for flavor. If they say its for health reasons, they're hair splitting idiots and you should ignore everything else they ever say.

Seriously, people...fat and meat is what you and I are made of. It stands to reason that this is what we should eat, no?

What do we know about carbohydrates?

We know that they cause diseases of the pancreas...which leads us down the road to all those fantastic 'Western Diseases' that kill so many Americans. The pancreas is responsible for several important functions, but primarily it produces insulin to manage dietary sugars. When the pancreas has to produce insulin in large amounts, really bad stuff happens. Over time, plaque (beta amyloid particles) forms and hyperinsulinemia (metabolic syndrome) creates fat deposits, among other things. Plaque https://www.alz.org/braintour/plaques.asp is a byproduct of sugar (carbohydrates) which deposits in the brain (Alzheimer's) and in the vascular system (myocardial infarction, stroke, etc, etc). Hyper insulinemia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperinsulinemia is the process by which you get fat. Another fun fact about carbohydrates, in the process of turning a normal and healthy human body into a diseased pile of crap, they cause deformities. You can see the outward deformity of obesity, which should serve as a warning for what's going on inside the body. But it usually doesn't, because people are stupid.

If any of you want to de-stupify yourselves on this topic, go to youtube and search for Gary Taubes.

Worrying about cholesterol is like worrying about having too much lumber.

I have used coconut oil and butter. I am not as worried about carbs anymore so I quit doing it.

I drink my coffee black, in a plain white coffee mug if I am at the house. I drink it black out of a stainless thermos if I am in the woods. Just like God intended.

I am pretty sure putting butter in your coffee is one of those secret signals gay dudes give each other that say I want you to bonk me in the butt.

I mean who doesn't like butter. If needed get you a break, or a bend, whatever, or however you'd bite off a tab.. Then drink the cup of coffee.

Coffee is one of those topics like steaks.

There are those who claim to want NOTHING on their steaks....NOTHING. No thanks....as long as there is salt, pepper and yes, BUTTER....my steak is getting those.

Then there are the folks who like their steaks well done. I'll cook them as them however they want them, but I can't eat them that way.

I'll take my coffee with Splenda & cream/milk/half&half. Never thought about adding anything else.

However folks want theirs is fine by me.

I've actually been adding MCT oil to mine the past few days. It is barely noticeable to the taste; if anything, it may be slightly better. I did the coconut oil a few days, but, while seeming to melt and mix in there fine, there'd still be a pile of solidified coconut oil in the bottom after I had assumed I finished the cup of coffee.

The MCT oil leaves no residue. And, like it states all over the web, you gotta use less of it. Like, A LOT, less.

After starting a Ketogenic diet, I can tell a pretty big difference from when I've added the oil and when I haven't. Doing a 65/30/5 percent of fat/protein/carbs. The added boost of the MCT is felt.

Fish apparently missed that day of grade school where they explain that your body is 60% water.
