    Default Great Morning

Made a quick stop on the way back from Miami at the Norfolk Southern Fishing Lodge on the St. Johns River in Palatka. Caught over 20 fish in 4 hours ranging from 2 to 8 pounds. Most were in the 3 pound range with several 5-6 pounders and the 8. Pitching live shiners to the bank and cover in a 20 yard area of a small shallow canal. All the fish were plump, healthy and that gorgeous dark coloration. Best freshwater trip I've had in a long time. If anyone has the chance to fish the St. Johns River in February or March, definitely take it.

No fishing in Miami? I've put a hurting on some peacock bass down there, but usually didn't start seeing them good until April.

Don't have time when working the boat show. Sam Peters that owns Release Marine invited us Tarpon fishing Sunday night but we had to leave Sunday afternoon to make it to Palatka.
