Lost several strikers last season, and I need to replace them.

What type of wood do you prefer for copper and crystal calls? I have one laminate left that I like a lot for copper and slate. I'll probably purchase another one of those.

    Thanks

Always use a Niel Cost elephant ivory striker. I have like 6 of them by the way.

Snakewood is a good striker for about all surfaces.

You should be able to find something here that works. IMHO, Harold Fowler's striker are THE best. ( probably not as good as SW's Cost strikers)

Call Mr. Fowler and ask his opinion, the gentleman knows and it is worth the time to speak with him.

If you order today you should have it by Monday, even if he has to build it.

Mr. Fowler makes some good strikers, no doubt.

If you run glass or crystal calls you should keep one of those carbon tipped strikers that come with Crystal Screamers on hand. It is a very sharp sound and it has worked well for me in the past
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

Another vote for Mr. Harold. He is a joy to speak with and makes one heck of a striker

    Agreed on the crystal.

My fav strikers from Mr Fowler are dogwood, persimmon, and Black Locust.

I like a hickory striker from Fred Cox for a slate call.

I like this Snakewood one from Bill Lyman. It works great on Ceramic.
