Falcons D was gassed the entire 4th. Shanahan's getting blistered for play calling but the D didn't come close in the second half. It wwas just Brady's night. Destined!
What Shanhan tried to pull was the same shit that Mickelson did at Winged foot in the US Open. The announcer that day nailed it. You don't have to charge down the 18th fairway on the white horse.
The strip sack came on 2nd and 2, following an 8 yard first down carry. Shanahan goes double move, Ryan doesn't have enough sense to check out of it, and Freeman goes bonehead on a missed block. IF your defense is gassed, and they were, part of coaching is recognizing that and chewing the damn clock. They were having success running the ball all night.
The sack then holding that was their ultimate demise came after an amazing play by Julio on a ball that NEVER should've been thrown in that situation. Once that happens, you count your blessings, run the ball 3 times and rely on Matt Bryant who has been great this year. The Patriots either let the clock run to the two minute warning or burn all of their timeouts. A made field goal and worst case scenario is a very late onside kick situation.
Brady is incredible, and destiny is powerful, but since 1991, in all nfl games, 4 teams have lost in the situation Atlanta was in when up 25. That kind of thing requires destiny and idiocy. Both came together perfectly.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
