    Default Xpress 1552 motor size

Looking to buy an 2014 xpress 1552 the boat is only rated for a 25 hp. Has anyone ever ran one of these boats with a 50 4 stroke. Just curious how it would tote this motor. image.jpg

You looking for a new motor or used one? That will determine your options. I don't think you'd have an issue with a 40. Looks like that's a short transom, so that will greatly limit your options. Problem will be finding a short shaft 40/50. People are holding on to em tight. If they do let it go they want a mint for em.

Buddy of mine runs a 3 cylinder 30 Yamaha on Triton with similar dimensions and is hitting 40.

    Nice hull though.

Buy the boat, bolt the motor on and roll out.

Xpress makes a 15' with a tall transom. Keep looking.
