Get your facts right. I carried my gun 5 times and limited out last year and hunted 25 days..... Do the math. 80% of my hunting last year was without a gun trying to get others a turkey. You've got me all wrong. I enjoy others killing birds just as much as myself. I just don't need to be in your "cool group" to kill turkeys

Don't let him or anyone on here get to you. It is an internet message board.

I'm bad at math, but my vocabulary is good enough to interpret "solo player"
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

Yes me, as a "solo player", will limit out and get others birds and not be in the "cool turkey hunters club"

Attached some factoids from the GA DNR about wild turkeys and their home and extended range. Interesting read from our "experts" Ranges may be as little as 200 acres or as much as 12,000.

I hunted with J.Wayne Fears in AL a few seasons and he said that his studies showed some Gobblers live on less than 100 acres all their lives- provided that ground had water, food and good roost timber. He also was the firm believer in older birds using the "lek" phenomenon- i.e. a very small area of ground near the Roost that gives easy access to hens and a good area to strut and breed in.

Dr. Lovett Williams corroborates the opinion in his great book - "The Art and Science of Wild Turkey hunting"

I know some of those 100 acre birds. Their population gets kept in check.

Those birds that roam are the ones that can make a quiet morninf in the woods fun really quick too.

Where can one read this study?

    Full fan and I shoot

I'm more interested in how many stones I get from a bird than the beard and spur length

Words to live by. If he gobbles and struts like a man, he dies like a man

Did trump build a wall to keep other gobblers from coming in?

I'm not saying another won't show up but if another doesn't then the one bird will get a pass

I can respect that with as many jakes as you have, but personally I wouldn't be as restrained as you. With that many jakes and hens a new dominant gobbler is bound to move in.

I'm sure one would. I just don't have to shoot that turkey. I will limit out elsewhere. I just don't want to take the chance one won't. I still think another bird will come in by spring and I won't have to worry about it.
