Any of fellows have any leads on a good snow goose guide? Looking to book a hunt late march, any help is appreciated.

    Two things -

#1- slogging in a muddy azzed cut corn field that is half unfroze sucks balls.

#2- Wild Turkeys are far superior to Sky Carp as a food source.

If you are dead set on it- here is an outfitter that gets good marks from a couple of my friends. They have hunted NoDak with them in the Spring. Be sure to spray some PAM on your boots so the fucking gumbo won't weigh 50 pounds before you make it to the decoys.

That was almost as eloquent as what I would expect Griffin to say.

I'm heading out to IL tomorrow for the opener with Show me your snows. Rick Hamm on Facebook. 10,000 full body decoy spreads. I'll report back how it goes. He's loaded up with birds right now with it being so warm. All I can tell you that there are a ton of shitty guides, so do your homework.

Fuzzy, I try to remain factual..

I'm not real big on the Sky Carp shooting anymore. Too much work too end up with 80-11 pounds of meat that most folks won't eat. Meat that you won't get repeat customers on even if given away.. To each his own.

I've killed a few, not a lot . What I do know about them is they are some nasty and stinking things. The first ones I killed was in Arkansas a good many years ago. We had them in the corner of the blind for a little while, before we realized where that nasty funk was coming from. They are fun to shoot, but so are clays.

Right, I can kill turkeys for food in the first 3 days or however many tags one gets, I would have way more fun shooting a hundred or so snows

Good luck on your quest. I doubt that you are going to kill a hundred on any Snow Goose hunt. 10-20 maybe. If you are planning to hunt over decoys, that number may be high.

When big numbers are killed it won't involve calls or decoys. No Dat.

That late you better be looking for something in ND or Canada. You want the big numbers then find someone that moves on then every day or two. If they set a rig and hunt it for two or three weeks running traffic then 15-30 a day is standard.

The damned things are smart ( for waterfowl) Get a flock with a bunch of Adults in it and your odds go way down ... For huge numbers of dead birds, a Goose roll or "drive" is the only way to run the barrel hot.. (not sure if it's still a legal maneuver)

I have participated in enough of those to know it's not much fun after the shooting is done.. Good luck BigHun.
