My cousin lives a few miles from there apparently. Armchair quarterbacking, but if I wasn't being held up and they were on their way out, I wouldn't have put myself in a position to get harmed unless it was by the second perp after I put half a magazine in the other's back when they got past me. The law might frown upon the method, but you'd have a good chance of walking away alive, and I'd take my chances in Texas. Carry everywhere all the time.

One of the gents I have trained with a couple times puts great stock in the ability and choice to be a live witness over being a dead combatant. He preached getting to cover and making sure any loved one you are responsible for is in the same place of safety. Engage only if directly threatened.
