    Thanks. The "stall" was worse than I've ever seen. I guess a long thin piece of meat allows for alot of evaporation cooling.

    It had a great smoke flavor and was good and tender. I would have preferred a little more crunchy bark, but the foil had to happen if we were ever going to eat last night.

    The rub was store bought. Butt Rub is a my go too, but I picked up something new. It was similar, just had a little more sweet to it. The rub flavor was very minor. You could taste it in the bark, but the main flavor came from the beef and smoke, which was perfect. My two cents after one is I wouldn't worry too much about the rub.

    ETA: Looking forward to a brisket sandwich tonight.

    A few years back I watched one of those BBQ cookoff shows. Power went out at the event and most of them were panicking because they had to have power to BBQ. I never watched another episode.
