    Default Louisiana 2017

I have friends that live in Louisiana and have been making a trip down there every year for 22 years now. I usually take my nephew and brother in law every year, but this year my brother in law couldn't make it,so I took my son. He just turned 19 and graduated high school last June and has never been nor has he had an opportunity to kill many ducks here. We left out Friday the 13th and made the 800 mile trip down to the duck camp. Temps were in the 60's and 70's during the day and lows in the 50's so it was rather warm and it rained bout every day. We had several good hunts after we found the birds. I got to spend a week with my son Tristan shooting ducks and got to watch him kill several species of duck he has never even had an opportunity at here at home. He even got to kill his first canvasback. Here are a few pics.

Haha! I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think that.

I miss LA. Every time I think about duck hunting in Louisiana I get frustrated. Frustrated that it's so easy compared to how hard I have to work to kill ducks here.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Those ducks would have looked a lot cooler on a couple of Yeti's. Congrats on what looked liked a great trip!
