Anyone here that in construction ever heard of these? They look like big golf balls. It's an interesting design idea.

The balls are inserted in the cage not to help it stay rigid, but to reduce the volume of cement required to complete the structure, and to lighten the resulting slab, allowing for longer unsupported spans.
