Sorry for the late post. Son had his youth hunt this past Saturday & some tips from some members were great. Weather was warm & we drew the big lake blind. We got set up & waited for shooting time & watched the woodies start flying bout 10mim before shooting time. About 20mins into shooting time had a couple ringnecks coming into the decoys & I said let's see what they do. Right before they hit the water he lit one up with 2 shots. He was going nuts & thrilled & I went & got it for him. Few minutes later a flight came from behind & he drilled one going away, before I could get to it he got to see what we warned about when a bald eagle came & grabbed it & took it, he was pissed. He shot another ringneck & blew some shots on teal whizzing by. He had a great hunt.

Good Deal. Just watching the Eagle was worth the price of admission IMO. You just don't get to see that everyday.

Hunted there the last year adults could hunt along with the yutes. We had a great hunt and can't say enough good about the folks in charge there.

We laid off the wood ducks all day and realized early on that 2 limits was going to be a given so we sat back and targeted fully plumed drake blue wings.

Went to the father son a few years back in a flooded corn field & had a ball. They do a great job & they warned us that it might be slow. It wasn't slow. Wish I brought more decoys.

I'll be there to help with the youth hunt Feb 4th. Looking forward to it!
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

    That's a fact
Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

My son and I hunted the big pond with the box blind several years ago. Damn eagle also tried to steal one of our Ringers but he dropped it.

Nephew and I got drawn to hunt turkeys there a few years back. Awesome piece of property to hunt.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
