I had some 440s or have laying around that I used for a while. I'm pretty sure King Kong doesn't have shit on them.

The MB 550 is made by Minnesota Brand. I did hear that they bought out Bridger and are now making similar traps under the bridger name that are similar to the MB 450 and 550 in that they have the similar Paws I Trip pan system. However they quality of the MB's is much better and they are made in the USA verses overseas. As far as the conibears go I've used duke and bridger 330's, the major difference is that the safeties on the Bridger stay on much better. I've watched videos where people say real good things about the Belisle conibears in that the safeties won't fall off and that the "jaws" close tighter than other brands, but at around $10 more per trap I haven't tried one personally. Regardless which conibear trap brand you get I would highly recommend buying a body grip safety like this.

I guarantee you he don't have a thing on them.

A buddy bet me one day that I couldn't set a 330 without the spring set tool. Stupid me took him up on it. I did it, but looking back it sure was a stupid thing to do.

As stated, connibear 330 for beaver. If you need adrowning set, use Bridger 2.5's or 750's in other brands. I like longsprings but that's just me. Coilsprings are easier to run. I trapped as a side job for 20 years, got me a lot of access to some great hunting.

MB-550-RC is the way to go, 2 coil, offset jaws. Depending on soil a 12" superstake with a MB crunch proof swivel in between will be the perfect setup. I use some 450s for fox but i have caught over 100 fox with the 550's

Any 330 will work, paint them
