If a dog club has their dogs caught on another property and the DNR goes through the process of writing up the tickets then I believe they get three infractions before losing the ability to dog hunt. The problem is that some guys will turn dogs loose without a collar, or just a generic collar,so you can't prove its their dog.

I would guesstimate the dog club that borders us shares about 50 acres with us. The other guys adjoin them to the north.

I'd damn sure spend 2grand and build a fence..

You shouldn't have to, but I'd rather do that than grin and bear it..

I'm not resisting.. Well kinda.. I truly hope every piece of trash, rogue dog hunter would have never picked up the sport..

I guess I have some resistance, because I don't want a minor violation to end the sport for me..

We have hunted as a group since 37' and have actually been a club since 52'..

All the while, going above and beyond to appease our neighbors.. We have "done it right bo"..

So now, one land owner can end it all with a letter, no matter how minor the violation..

It's a sinking ship, that I don't have a whole lot of answers to fix..

Maybe if people have to register and or have a license, that would cut the majority of the problem out..

Dogs on my property, don't ruin my day, dog hunters on my property are a different story..

But $500 for a first offense seems drastic to me..

What problems have you experienced with dogs/doghunters?

So if a guy hunts without a license and trespasses, do you think outlawing what he does is going to stop him?

Hunting without a license and trespassing is already against the law..

Well let me ask you, what should be done this is happening in a lot of places. Y'all look bad as a whole, even in my mind. None of the"good" dog hunters are helping with a resolution, I mean wake up and realize something has to change to give landowners some type of rights. I am not saying it is going fix it but some enforcement and stuff fine may persuade a few minds. As a matter of fact, I think they should outlaw hunting from a public road! That would solve a ton of my problems!

Because some neck is going to quit doing illegal activities, because another activity he partakes in is now illegal or carries a fine?

I'm not really sure how this can be fixed, and obviously neither is the guy that wrote this bill.. Looks like he threw some crap to a wall hoping some of it stuck..

As in a highway or a dirt road?

We are lucky as all of our property is in one piece and all is behind a gate..

I am kinda glad our land isn't all in 1 track.
Allows us to only be on a single tract every 4-5 weeks.

Oh yea! I've hunted Redhill, Oakland, longlands. Could you imagine what we could have if no one would have cut either side. Some of the timber left on sportsman's and around the blue hole has to be some of the prettiest spots I've ever payed eyes on

Yeah, we would have the crap Archibald Rutledge used to write poetry about..

5000 +- acres were clear cut and planted in pines.. Pines in Santee Swamp.. A lot of old timers roll over in their grave on the hour..

What does this have to do with dog hunting?
Are you trying to make the correlation the some how regulating dogs and there owners retrieving said dogs is equal to the Obama administration trying to pull a fast one by banning ammunition for Americas favorite rifle?

Not exactly even in the same ball park.

I'm not fully agreeing with this bill, not an I fully disagreeing with this bill. I don't care for our government and their decisions as a whole.

And when I said a public road I mean a paved 2 lane.

I must ask you pbiz, did you not push for the deer tag bill to pass? Maybe I am mistaking you for some one else on here though.

Hell no, I'm more anti-buck tags than I am anti-Clemson..

I mostly agree with not public road hunting, but what if I own 10,000 acres on both sides of
    An old country road?

And I know that's the exception and not the rule, but what if you were the exception?
