I hunt with a Georgetown Crabber and that's all he wears. Hunter green slickers and rubber boats. Stays dry as a bone when it's pouring down rain.

How's it working for you? I just waxed an old field jacket with it that had never been waxed before. Anxious to see how it does.

The McAlister coat I have can't be beat though.

Works great. I have a carhartt that I waxed a couple of years ago. Keeps me dry. You can wax anything.

Yep, you can make your own wax too for a percentage of what Filson or otter wax costs. It's kept me dry so far this year

You can add wax to whatever you want, but I guarantee I've waxed more in my Barbour.

I found some pretty good deals on the otter wax online. XL bar for 20 bucks. It will do a full jacket and a little more. That's cheap enough for me.

I'm going to try the otter wax fabric dressing on my old Columbia canvas widgeon wading jacket. I hope it works. The jacket is definitely not waterproof any longer. Columbia offered to send me a brand new one btw which I thought was pretty admirable considering it's 20 years old.

I hope I am cool enough one day to call my waxed cotton jacket a grease coat.

I bought it directly from otter wax $15 for XL bar if you buy 3. Planning on waxing some carhartt pants or bibs with it next.

Otter wax for anything canvas, works best if you use a hair dryer when applying. For synthetics I've gotten to where I use the Atsko water guard to refinish the DWR and safeguard all seams. All that being said I have the Natgear Duck coat and it hasn't leaked yet.

Googled "grease coat" and this is what comes up. I bet the ducks just fall out the air dead when they see that
