    Period.
OK, I'll spell it out for you. Clemson University and Clemson Athletics has been a huge part of my family for many years. I was introduced to it by my grandfather, who happened to be a pretty cool person. Attending games was something we did together as often as possible. My choice to attend and graduate from Clemson meant a lot to him, and we continued to attend Clemson football games together. We also spent many days hunting and fishing together, and I will often get emotional in the woods when I think about him and miss him. My emotions early Tuesday morning were from missing him, wishing he was with me, and wishing we could experience that together. I had his 1950 Clemson A&M ring with me in the stadium, and I enjoyed having a little piece of him with me.

To be honest, I feel like something is very wrong if there aren't things that you feel strongly enough about to get emotional every now and then.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands

Getting emotional about missing your grandpa and getting emotional about winning/losing a game are two TOTALLY different things.

If you cried because you miss him, great. I'm certain he's worth missing and there's no shame in that.

If you cried because you are so emotionally invested in Clemson football, I feel poorly for you.

Being that I don't know you, I can't be sure, but I'm going to assume it's the former that had you in tears.

    I aint afraid to cry.

    I'm just not telling anyone.

    Good on you, Boozer!

(note: my very stoic brother was at the game and he said he cried afterwards. He and I both spent our childhoods up in those hills, too, and our granddad played ball there with the likes of Banks McFadden. Maybe its something we cant explain to a coot fan)

Doesn't get any better than this. Had a ball sharing this moment with my 7 year old!

Turbo, don't be so damn binary. Drop the tough guy bit for 5 seconds. I'm willing to bet that many of us that got choked up did so from a place of missed loved ones or other emotional ties - not from simply winning or losing.

I didn't bawl, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't get choked up a little - and it had everything to do with missing the shit out of my dad who was cool enough to drive me and my mom to Miami in 1981 to watch the first championship. I was there in person as a 9 year old and cried like a baby while I was hugging my parents then. I was at home Friday night, watched my son do a belly flop on the stairs and say "that was for grandaddy" because he had heard the story of my dad doing that when US Hockey beat Russia in 1980. I still remember my dad doing that today. Hayden hadn't long turned 2 years old when my dad died in January '06 and they would have been best of friends today. He first bought season tickets the following year in 1982 and we spent a lot of Saturdays in Death Valley and made the occasional road trip.

I hugged the shit out of anybody I could get my arms around Monday night - thankfully it was just my immediate family. My dad and I were tighter than I can put into words and I know he would be loving the shit out of the moment - so yeah - that'll choke a grown ass man up a little.

Crying when you're happy makes zero sense when you can shoot guns into the air, jump 4 wheelers, chug Busch lite and smoke cigarettes (all simultaneously)
