My buddy took both of his offspring. They had a great shoot.

slow. had a flooded corn field. Woodies flew before shooting time & would land in the corn. Biologist said we didn't need to bring a bunch of decoys where we were going & to used theirs. Should've taken our woodies cause their bag had 3 & 7 teal. Son did shoot his first gwt their however.

Yeah I was looking at the reports already. It’s our first youth draw hunt and want to make sure she has a good time. I’d really like to use my own decoys too but didn’t know if that’s frowned upon. From what I’ve read they have “decoys” sort of.

Take them & prepare to move around. Woodies, teal, & ring necks.

Not sure about moving around just because I don’t have a clue about the area but that’s the bag I’m planning to bring.

certainly bring your own decoys. BUT, you cant make ducks appear. You need to assure she "has a good time" before you even go. Meaning: dont put too much impetus on killing ducks. Honestly, you'll know before you get there from the reports....so just enjoy the opportunity and dont overthink it.

edited to add: you'll be put in an area and shown some boundaries. you'll be able to move if you really think you need to. Its not rocket science.

More then likely you’ll get a flooded corn field & they’ll tell you what to look for. If you get the big lake the ringnecks are in there, but so is a bald eagle who’ll take your birds. Your son will enjoy it from the sights & sounds up there.

Thanks for everyone’s input. We always have a good time. I just want to make sure we make the most of the opportunity we have been given.
