    Default 20 Gauge Choke

I'm making the switch to the 20 gauge this year. I'm planning to shoot Federal Heavyweight 7's from an 870 youth model. Which choke would you recommend for this setup?

Sumtoy will kill them out to 45 yards.

I have 2 of those guns. One shot the heavyweights best with a factory Remington super full, the other shot heavyweights best with the TruGlo SSX.

The Gobblin Thunder patterned better than the sumtoy out of mine. 40 yds had a damn good pattern

There is no "hands down" best choke for any particular brand of shotgun. Only way to really figure it out is shoot several. If you want to borrow some chokes, PM me. I'll send you what I have to try out. I don't have any that I want to get rid of, but you could try them.

Remington super full for that gun is hard to beat with about anything you run thru it. The real question should be how dead do you want em. With those shells you can kill cleanly at 30-40 yds with nothing more than cylinder bore in most guns.

Make a day of it and go see William. Hands down great guy. You won't leave without it shooting right. I was shooting in the 180's with the 7's. switched to TSS and he made it nasty. He can lengthen forcing cone and all.

Thank you for the recommendations and offers. Does the flight control was have any effect on the Sumtoy choke?

I dont think the 20 gauge HW's have the FC Wad, I could be mistaken but at one time I know they did not.

I'm so sorry. The updated software shows new threads all together so I didn't even notice the forum. Forget what I said, I wouldn't go with the modified at all...

Remington super full. You can get it for 19.99 all day. Hard to beat at that price.

Everything that comes out of William Lambert's shop (Sumtoy) is awesome. He knows as much about turkey guns as anyone.
