    Default Broke the ice!

Having my first lab has been a rollercoaster. From a major injury, to planning on send him to bay creek for training and having funds fall through, to limited time for personal training things just were not working in my favor. I don't hunt as much as I use to either and can honestly say I do not kill birds on a regular basis. Whether or not my dog would every retrieve a bird for me was unclear. I have taken him numerous times never to shoot a bird which was frustrating for both of us. The tides changed with 2017 and it decided to start out right for us both. Not long after shooting time on the first I had a pair of mallards float in where I was able to kill both. Being in the blind he was unable to see the birds and made two retrieves without seeing their locations from the start. After that I was able to call in another group of 4 mallards in which I killed one drake which he retrieved also. I couldn't have been happier finally having it all come together. Looking forward to many more with my partner.

    Ready for more!

Congrats. You never know how they will do till that first bird hits the water. And then we are reminded they already knew what to do.
