What's the best length? Also, I looked at some from BNM and the bastards were $65 a piece, any other cheaper options? Thanks!

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
You are going to need several different lengths to keep your spread from becoming a cluster. I run 6 rods off the front. Ive got 2 10', 2 8', and 2 6'. God help you if a striper hits. You'll be retying them all. Academy has some decent priced rods.

God help the stripper
It will be even worse if a stripper and a striper hits at the same time.

We run 8' to 12'.
AB outfitters in Ridegway. He has several to choose from, I run some older Hi-Tech rods. You need to buy all the same brand etc at the same time.

Cheap isn't the best way to go in my opinion. I run 12' rods when tightlining and I troll 10' rods out the back and 12' to 18' rods out of the sides.
I use Pinnacle Limit rods when tightlining just because I don't tightline very much (they are cheap). I use Wally Marshall troll tech rods for trolling.

I wish ugly stick made them. Ill pop a crappie pole in a minute! Don't try to lift in heavy fish or put much bend in one trying to get your bait off a brush pile.

About any slow action rod is okay for tightlining but I care most about all being the same so I can tell when a fish picks up the bait and just sits there.
Fast action tips like the Wallys you mention are best for trolling.
Wally marshall or bnm. Different lengths. 14 out the sides twelve and ten in. Fuck a striper and a stripper, been tangled up with both and it ain't fun.
Saw some nice looking 10 ft rods today at Academy Sports in Florence on closeout for $14.00 a piece.
I run 12' south bend rods, no problems with them but I plan to upgrade to 14'ers before spring.
RIP JACKIE HITE. He taught me and really don't care about um no more. Striper's is where its at.

Yep. I'd far rather eat a crappie than a stripper anyway.
