It was killed here by one of our long dead Members. I will go take a pic when the rain lets up as it is relegated to the shed.

The Old Man spotted a pair of cinnamon teal (our first) this weekend. I am looking forward to capturing them on "film" soon. Ducks are moving through. More to come for sure. Friends way to the north have not seen the big migration yet.

Do you winter the same ducks from year to year? Do you have any with special colorings or plumage that returns year after year? I remember you posted a pic of a black(can't remember?) with distinct plumage that stood out or maybe it was a hybrid. Just interested if you know certain ducks that you can id year after year?

I shot a shoveler that I had banded 5 years before, so yes. I believe we have killed 3 or 4 ducks now that were banded here previously. We had a leucistic hen mallard that came for 8 or 9 seasons. We were not allowed to shoot while she was in the air. Also a banded swan that was as tame as a puppy for a few seasons. I am sure there are more I am forgetting.

I witnessed a Cinnamon teal drake killed in a flooded Orange grove near Winter Haven, FL many years back. Fully plumed, gorgeous bird. The Crackers plucked, roasted and ate him.

I killed a cinnamon teal on my very first trip out to Arkansas many years ago. I cleaned the damn thing and ate him. I feel dirty just typing that.

No surprise. Is Pat mounting his? I can only imagine that his collection of hybrids has to be the largest in the country at this point. I am in awe of what he has killed. Then again, who isn't?
